The first year of the PhD-Doctorate in Philosophy follows the Master in Philosophy which has already given the opportunity to begin research. The first year of a PhD in Philosophy is devoted to the study of the issue at hand. It is really essential to take the time necessary to specify the subject that one wants to study in depth.

STUDYING THE STATE OF THE QUESTION

Having presented a thesis project, the students study the state of the question they will be working on through intense bibliographic work and, when possible, meetings on the field. The thesis director must be appointed by the Faculty of Philosophy.

DIALOGUE WITH THE DISSERTATION DIRECTOR

The choice of the dissertation director is not less important than the choice of the subject. In fact, the two go together.

The thought matures little by little and small texts are written. The exchange with the dissertation director helps to orientate oneself.

The thesis director guides the students with their bibliography and the precision of their subject.
