Autumn Plenary Session of the Academic Senate
29 november 2024
The autumn plenary session of the Academic Senate of Domuni-Universitas took place on 28 November 2024. Several significant topics were addressed, reflecting a collective commitment to academic quality and pedagogical innovation.
The session included the presentation and discussion of the Quality Commission's report on the student experience. This report was developed through the active participation of students, who responded in large numbers to the surveys prepared for this purpose. Their valuable feedback helped identify strengths and areas for improvement, reinforcing Domuni's dedication to fostering a high-quality academic environment aligned with international standards.
The Pedagogy Commission also presented its work, laying the groundwork for an ambitious project: the creation of a Laboratory for Pedagogical Innovation and Reflection (LIRP). This initiative aims to create a space where teachers, researchers, and students can collaborate to develop innovative practices for distance education.
Additionally, a report on the Faculty of Theology was presented by the Dean, offering an overview of the activities and future directions of this central discipline at Domuni-Universitas.
A highlight of the session was the election of a new Academic Senate board, whose members will serve a two-year term. The elected members are:
- President: Dr. Joseph-Thomas Pini, OP, Regent of Studies for the Dominican Province of Toulouse, Professor of Canon Law at the Faculty of Law, and Agrégé in Public Law.
- Vice-President: Dr. Evelyne Maurice, Dean of the Faculty of Theology.
- Secretary: Ms. Cécile Boucherle, General Secretary of the institution.
The Senate also welcomed a new member: Dominican Brother Dr. Olivier Catel, Doctor of Letters and Agrégé in Literature, specializing in Rabbinic Exegesis. An educator and researcher at the École Biblique et Archéologique Française de Jérusalem, Dr. Catel teaches two courses at Domuni-Universitas in French and English and regularly leads Master's e-seminars. He is currently completing a second doctoral thesis at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His expertise and commitment will enrich the Senate's work.
This plenary session reflects the collaborative dynamic driving Domuni-Universitas in its service to students and its academic mission.
