Rector's Letter for December 2024

Dear Students and Colleagues,

"Peace on earth to people of goodwill": this promise resonates in the silence of Bethlehem, strangely echoing the crises that weigh upon our world. Our thoughts are particularly with Ukraine, the Middle East, Kivu, Haiti, and Mayotte, where some of our students and colleagues live. Witnesses to the trials facing these regions, they courageously confront the challenges of their daily lives.

To them and their families, we extend our deepest solidarity. In the diversity of our academic community, we draw a shared strength that transcends borders and unites us in a common hope.

During this Christmas season, we express our wish that peace may find its place, even amidst divisions. May moments of respite rekindle hope and nourish our shared commitment to building a more balanced and fraternal world.
