Dr. Jaco Kruger
Dr Jaco Kruger has been Head of the Department of Philosophy and Applied Ethics at St Augustine College of South Africa, a private Catholic University, since 2016. He has taught courses ranging from the “Introduction to Philosophical Anthropology” at first year level to “The Dignity of the Human Person” at master’s degree level. With regard to human dignity, he has published on the relation between human dignity and the logic of gift exchange. His current research interests include the notion of ecological civilization, artificial intelligence and the relation between religion and science from a process philosophical perspective.
His doctoral thesis attempted a critical engagement with the 20th century theological turn in phenemenology, specifically the work of Jacques Derrida.
