Philosophy and Social Sciences

This e-seminar explores the interactions between philosophy and cinema through the analysis of iconic films and theoretical texts. From the ontology of cinema to its sociopolitical influence, the course addresses contemporary issues such as the power of images, the "male/female gaze," and a potential theology of cinema. This is a must-attend seminar for anyone looking to deepen their philosophical reflection through the lens of the seventh art.

This e-seminar explores the evolution of concepts of sexuality and gender, from ancient myths to contemporary theory. Through five key stages, including the analysis of fundamental texts and scientific approaches, this seminar invites deep reflection on issues related to sexual identity, bodily domination, and the hypersexualization of society. It is an opportunity to broaden your perspectives on these complex and current topics.

This interdisciplinary webinar adopts an innovative approach, encouraging in-depth reflection on justice, recognition, and religion, with a focus on their impact on women in contemporary societies. Drawing on the work of world-renowned philosopher Martha Nussbaum, the seminar will address major themes such as gender equality, women’s rights, and the role of religions in the pursuit of justice and recognition. This seminar is conducted in English.

Theology

This e-seminar offers a deep dive into the evolution of the Church in Africa, in light of the continent’s cultural traditions and challenges. The course addresses the construction of the Church-as-Family through the lens of modern African theologies, drawing on the ideas of Bénézet Bujo and other influential theologians. You will explore the interactions between African culture, spirituality, and Christianity in four distinct stages, offering an enriching perspective for understanding contemporary ecclesiological issues in Africa.

This e-seminar provides a unique opportunity to rediscover the richness of liturgical celebrations through the meditations of Karl Rahner. This course, both theological and pastoral, invites participants to renew their perspective on the liturgical calendar and deepen its significance in their daily lives. You will be led to reflect on the importance of these celebrations and to update Rahner’s teachings so that they resonate in today’s world.

Multidisciplinary Seminars

The course examines how Christian doctrines, particularly Catholic, influence ethical economic practices, social justice, and sustainability. Participants will reflect on the theological critique of capitalism, issues of economic justice, and the role of religious institutions in the fight against poverty and the equitable distribution of wealth, while integrating theological perspectives into discussions on sustainable development.
